DESIGN materials for the circular economy

No greenwashing, no frills, we do what we say, and we say what we do.

The future is circular, and so are we.

When we talk about circularity, we’re talking about how our company fits into the circular economy.

The circular economy is a model that moves away from the traditional linear economy of take, make and waste by maximising the use of resources through the design of products and services for reuse, refurbishment and recycling. The aim is to create a never-ending loop that mimics nature (because there’s no such thing as waste in nature).

Creating a business and a product that is able to fit into this circular economy model has been at the centre of all of our decision making right from the start, from machine design to how we manage our waste. We’re committed to making sure it always will be. Here’s our circular promise.

100% recycled or rescued plastics.

We transform waste. Our materials are made from 100% recycled or rescued plastics, with up to 28 kilos in each sheet we produce. This means that not only are we avoiding extraction of natural resources from our environment - we’re proactively decontaminating it. We work to add value to the recycling chain, so we give priority to materials or plastic types with a low recycling rate in Costa Rica.

Designed to last and 100% recyclable.

We create materials that are designed to last and we support our customers by ensuring that the initial material selection takes this into account. Our materials can be refurbished, but if it isn’t an option, we’ve made sure our materials are 100% recyclable.

Made using renewable energy.

We reject the use of fossil fuels to produce our materials. All of our processes use electricity from Costa Rica’s national grid that is 99% powered by renewable energy.

Ensuring waste is reused.

We aim to give any waste that we create the highest value we can for the longest time that we can. We reuse production excesses to create unique pieces of art but if that’s not possible we make sure that it’s responsibly processed and reused (this includes floor sweepings!) by companies that can.
